Hello my dearest dears! How marvelous, here we all are again ready for another exciting adventure on OpenSim, the software platform that hosts hundreds of individual worlds, that are often connected by an amped up teleportation system called the Hypergrid. This system allows you to travel fromworld to world in the blink of an eye, exploring, making friends, and snagging great free gifts till you just get dizzy!! If you do not understand how to get on OpenSim (you are not alone, believe me) please read my ” How to get on OpenSim in Six Easy Steps” page at the top of this blog. If you do not understand any of this posts terminology, don´t forget to take a look at my Newbie Glossary, also at the top of this blog. Come on, spread your wings in the free metaverse!
Today´s post isn’t very long; I just wanted to let everybody know about an exiting six month art festival that is taking place across five grids thus far; are YOU a grid owner- or an individual artist ? Are you in a performing group? Everyone is welcome to get in on this! How do I know?
The lady with the pretty red hair is Josina Burgess, who is, among other things, a Craft resident with a great freebie store in Rainbow. Craft Grid Owners Tao Quan and Licu Rau introduced us.
This will take you to JOSINA´S HOMEPAGE where you can leaf through her artwork albums, and read her remarkable biography. ( She was the first female Dutch protest singer. How cool is that?) The giant boxes behind us are promos for THE CHANGE, a metaverse rock opera being performed by the group she co-founded called CARP: CYBERNETIC ART RESEARCH PROJECT, celebrating the 100th birthday of NICHOLAS SCHÖFFER, THE FATHER OF CYBERNETIC ART. The opera is opening the groundbreaking IMAB, of which Josina is a core organizer. So if this very impressive lady says everyone is welcome, they most certainly are!
The pictures below are of Benvolio in Second Life, the gallery/ theater region run by Josina and her partner , fellow artist, master programmer AND engineer Velazquez Bonetto. This is where the Opera will take place at 1pm SLT which is 10PM Central European Time, I think. I have seen conflicting information about the times, some say 2pm, but I am sure you can find someone there to set you straight around performance time! And of course, the admission is free!
I, personally, can´t make the opening. Why I am not freaking out? Because the opera will be performed EVERY SUNDAY at 1pm(?) SLT ! This is the groups third opera, and people tell me they are amazing, with cameras in the seats and other wild effects I do not plan on missing. Oh, I might add that Schöffers family was involved in the production.

Don’t forget that the dates and times are in the calender section, but the LOCATIONS are under a seperate heading!
