Remember how I told you all in my last post to read Maria´s World on the Hpergrid Business Website?
Hello again my dears! Here is another mini post just to quickly clue you all in on MIKI KITI TIKI a great little grid that I found perusing MARIA´S WORLDS . It was just a little mention in an article, and as much as I was enjoying Maria saying her piece, I got very excited at the word bicycle. I rode a bike all the time in SL- and I hadn´t seen a single rideable one in OpenSim. So I clicked the link, in the article, that brought me to the Hyperica Directory listing. I copied the address, noted that it was in the middle regions, logged onto Craft, clicked the the Sanctuary Scudder Gate in my landmark favorites, so I could jump from a middle region for my first visit( always a safer bet!), pasted the address into my world map search engine et voila!
There I was on Miki Kiti Tiki! Theses are all trophies from the bike races, which is what Maria had mentioned as an example of a Hypergrid social event. The bike in the back doesn´t work, by the way. To get a working bike, you have to fly back over the island behind me.
See the little square house on the right, under the zeppelin? Head over there!
There you go! The bikes come in four sizes, you wear them on your pelvis and you´re off! When you drive through the starting gate it begins timing you.
It is a sort of BMX all terrain track. And I do mean all. The bikes ride amazingly well, which is probably due to the Islands being a showcase/ test area for 3D programming.
If they want people to worry about time, they shouldn´t make everything so darned beautiful!
All terrain!
These plants were the only things that didn´t rezz in perfect coordination to my movement. Really impressive. Now let´s ride into that cave.
OOOOOOH!
The BMX race becomes a maze!
This is a really big game! I can´t finish it today! But I´ll be back!
Unfortunatly, the bike didn´t rezz properly off the Miki Kiti Tiki Grid, but hey, I had a wonderful time on this great little world! Thanks to the whole Miki Kiti Tiki gang and of course, Maria! And thank you for joining me, my dearest dears! The sweetest of dreams and the brightest of days to you all, until next time, Adieu!
Hi Christine,
I have to stop reading your blog!!
I’m not getting anything done on my own regions because I’m spending so much time chasing you across the metaverse!
I really do love visiting all the cool areas you write about. I get some of my best ideas from seeing what other artists come up with.
You are doing so much for the virtual community that I think we should give you a title to go along with your mission.
I kind of like “Virtual Christine, Metaverse Ambassador”
Keep up the great work!
Hylee
Thank you so much for featuring our Tiki on your blog and for all the nice comments!
We have a number of games on the Tiki from bike racing, to Tikiball (think soccer on ice with bikes and a giant beach ball!) to our latest addition: Shaunski, where players race around a pirate-themed lagoon on sheep-shaped jet skis grabbing buoys which increase their speed while avoiding the horrible green meanie mines which blow you out of the water and decrease your speed!
In addition to the games we have some great chillaxin areas as well as mementos of our 7 years of gaming together. We recently installed a Glitch Gallery dedicated to the memory of our time spent in the now sadly gone game of Glitch.
We (Miki, Kiss, and me, Kitty) are online nearly every afternoon from 3-4 pm central time. We would love to have you drop by and visit us some time for a personal tour!
Thanks again!
Kitty
P.S. The bikes have a built in anti-theft code that causes them to break apart if you take them off their sim. This is why your bike is in pieces in the photo of Hell Sim lol.
Whoops!!!
Thank you for your very kind comment! I will defnitly swing by!!!!
